1. What should be done if fluid leaks outside the valve? (Concern: external leakage)

(1) Environmental factors exceeding valve specifications

Cause　The valve may be being used in an environment that exceeds the specifications for the valve.
Remedy　Ensure that the valve is being used within the usage environment specifications (fluid pressure, temperature, etc.).
　　　If the specifications are exceeded, contact OKM.

(2) Factors related to seal components (consumable parts)

Cause　Leakage may occur due to degradation, wear, or other factors of the seal components (seat ring, O-ring, etc.).
Remedy　Replace the seal components.
　　　*Periodic replacement based on actual usage durations is recommended.

(3) Leakage from the gland

Cause　In gland structure valves, the tightening amount may have decreased due to stress and relaxation.
Remedy　1. Evenly tighten the gland tap bolts.
　　　2. If the bolts cannot be tightened any further, replace the gland packing.

(4) Distortion of the seat ring

Cause　If the seat ring is pushed in between the sides of the piping flange between valve surfaces without enough clearance, the load may cause the valve seat ring to become deformed.
Remedy　1. Remove the valve from the piping and check the seat ring.
　　　2. Replace the seat ring if it is found to be deformed.

(5) Breakage of valve components

2. What should be done if leakage occurs on the secondary side when the valve is fully closed?

(1) Foreign matter pinched in the valve

Cause　Foreign matter inside the piping may have become pinched, preventing the valve from closing completely.
Remedy　①1. Open and close the valve to release the foreign matter.
　　　If the valve still does not close, remove the valve from the piping to physically remove the foreign matter.
　　　2. Replace any components damaged by the pinching of the foreign matter.

(2) Factors related to seal components (consumable parts)

Cause　Leakage may occur due to consumption, wear, or other factors of the seal components.
Remedy　Replace the seal components.
　　　*Periodic replacement based on actual usage durations is recommended.
　　　*Contact OKM if the seal components need frequent replacement.
　　　　More suitable materials, models, or other changes may be available based on the usage environment.
